The Arab market is the focus of the Brazilian Beef promotion action

Looking at the expansion of one of the main markets for Brazilian Beef, the Brazilian Beef Exporters Association (Abiec) is getting ready to participate again in Gulfood, one of the main food and beverage fairs in the world, which will take place in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, from 16 to 20 February. The action is carried out along with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), Abiec’s partner in the Brazilian Beed project and will be attended by 17 associate companies – Agra, Agroindustrial Iguatemi, Astra, Cooperfrigu, Frigol, Frigon, Frigosul, Frigotil, JBS, Marfrig, Masterboi, Mataboi, Mercurio Alimentos, Minerva, Plena Alimentos, Supremo and Zanchetta.
During the event, the Association will promote the traditional Brazilian barbecue to visitors from all over the world, keeping an eye on a market that has solid numbers. In 2019, Brazilian exports to Arab countries totaled just over 511 thousand tonnes, a 5.7% increase compared to 2018. In terms of revenues, the sales reached USD 1.7 billion. The results represented around 22.5% of the turnover and 27.7% of the total volume of Brazilian beef exports. “The expectation is that the event will be a great opportunity to strengthen the relationship with an important market, with potential to grow even more”, says the president of Abiec, Mr. Antonio Jorge Camardelli.
Gulfood has more than 5 thousand exhibitors from 120 countries and receives around 97 thousand visitors from 185 countries.
